How to enable the Website Translator in Safari - Big Sur

If you upgraded to Big Sur, but you can't find the Website Translator button in Safari, do this to make it appear. Open System Preference s. Open the Language & Region preference pane. In the General tab, make sure you have the language you want translated to, in the Preferred Languages (for instance if you want the languages to be translated to English, you select English). Also in the General tab, you may or may not need to change the Region to where your preferred language is (for instance if you want to translate websites to English, select US or UK). In the Apps tab, click the + button to add Safari and select the preferred language for translation. Click OK. Click the button to Relaunch Safari for the changes to take place. Now the button will appear at the right side of the address bar. Click it to select the language and the Enable Translation button. You may now reverse the settings back if you want to, but keep the Preferred Languages to the desired language

Create and Use Email Templates in MacOS Mail

If you find yourself often typing or copying the same things over and over for different recipients at different times, why not create an email template? This could be very useful for introductions, or other things you would like to include that don't have to do anything with your signature. Let's see how to do that in MacOS Mail app. Creating the Templates Click the + sign next to Mailboxes to create a new Mailbox.  Choose a location and give it a name (ex. Templates ). Click OK . Now click the New Message button to create your template. I usually leave my templates without adding the recipients' emails. Close the New message window and click Save at the prompt. This will save the message as a Draft . Now find it in your Drafts folder, and right-click, and Move to -> Templates . If you already sent a message that you want it saved as a Template , find it in your Sent mailbox, right-click on it, Copy to -> Templates . Using a template Now that you have your te

Update to macOS Catalina 10.15.5 - Lenovo Legion Y540 Hackintosh

Ok, so I just got the notification, and from the details, I thought maybe I would have issues with sleep or power management in general. Turns out, everything is still working, including sleep! Download and install as normal from the Software Update pane.  Let it restart and boot on its own from Clover. The whole thing took max 15-20 minutes to update (it was a 3GB update). Upon startup after the update is installed, touchpad, USB WiFi, audio were not working. That's a temporary after-effect, and a fresh boot will fix that issue. Also upon startup you will be asked for your iCloud account password (I skipped that part, because my USB WiFi wasn't working). VERY IMPORTANT: On the same setup, you will be asked for Disk Encryption (File Vault), and the option is enabled by default. DO NOT PROCEED with that. Uncheck that option before finishing with the setup window. I confirm that on my Lenovo Legion Y540 Hackintosh everything is working: Sleep / Power Mana

Fix: Export Failed - Rendering Error in DaVinci Resolve

The other day I had issues exporting a video in DaVinci Resolve. It would reach at 99%, and then give me this error: " Rendering Error The Fusion composition on the current frame or clip could not be processed successfully." Here's how I got around it: From DaVinci Resolve menu, click on Preferences . Navigate to the User tab. From the list on the left, make sure you are in UI Settings . Disable Stop renders when a frame or clip cannot be processed . Click Save . Disclaimer: The content provided in this article is for informational purposes only. Installing MacOS Catalina on Legion Y540 Step 3 - Post installation

This article addresses post-installation issues. Click here to go back to Step 2 - USB Installer Click here to go back to Step 1 - BIOS Settings Click here to go back to Step 0 - Specs Post-installation Script You will need Internet for this. Run Clover Configurator and mount the EFI parttitions, of both your USB Installer and your Hack's SSD. Copy the EFI contents of your USB Installer to the SSD's EFI of your laptop. There was a README file on the EFI folder we downloaded and unzipped. If you don't have it, you can find it here: https://github.com/xiaoMGitHub/LEGION_Y7000Series_Hackintosh Inside the README file you will find a command you have to run on the Terminal (I repeat, you need the Internet for this to run). For reference, here is the command: sudo sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://gitee.com/xiaoMGit/Y7000Series_Hackintosh_Fix/raw/master/Script/Optimize.sh)" Enabling the numeric keypad For this, we need to be able to see the hidden system files first. To do

How to properly follow a Facebook post

Many times when people want to follow a Facebook post that interests them (for comments etc), they comment "F" or "Following" or "I want to know that too". This is not the correct way to receive notifications of a specific Facebook post. Here's how to do it instead: On the right side of the post that interests you, click (or tap if on a mobile device) on the 3 dots. This will open a context menu. You may have to click on More Options . Click the Turn on notifications for this post . Now you will receive notifications whenever a comment has been posted on this post. If you wish to opt out of notifications later on, just go back to the same context menu and click on Turn off notifications for this post. Installing MacOS Catalina on Legion Y540 Step 1 - BIOS Settings

It is easier to install the macOS in a SATA SSD drive, NOT on an NVMe, so I got a secondary Samsung 860 EVO SATA SSD for the macOS installation, while keeping my Windows 10 intact.   Click here to go back to Step 1 - Specs and What Works? Here are the BIOS Settings I changed for the installation and running of macOS: To select which device to boot from, press F12 during boot (when you see the Lenovo logo). To get to the BIOS settings, press F2 during boot (when you see the Lenovo logo). Disabling Secure Boot didn't cut it for me, so it was a bit tricky getting it to boot from the macOS Installer. Here's what you need to do. In the BIOS settings, navigate to the Boot tab. On Boot Mode , enable Legacy Support . Boot Priority should be UEFI First . Make sure USB Boot is set to Enabled . Now navigate to the Configuration tab. USB Legacy is set to Disabled . Press Enter on Storage  and check that you have it set to AHCI Mode . The above should now get

Workarounds: Windows Update KB4535996 boot issues and crashes

Like a lot of folks, I too was plagued with serious issues on my Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop with the recent windows updates. Namely: High CPU usage and overheating Random crashes Sleep and boot issues (black screen) Windows Search function not working/loading Stuttering / slow system usage I've recently did a Disk Cleanup too, so I couldn't revert back to an older Windows version (nor am I inclined to go that route often either). If you can, you should uninstall the update and block it through the Windows Update Troubleshooter. There was a KB4540673 update last night, but that's just security updates, didn't fix my issues. After going through the Event Viewer and the Task Manager to figure out what the problem was, here are the fixes that worked for me. Please do note that the problems you have may be different, and these fixes may not work for you. The Event Viewer can be helpful in diagnosing the problem. Uninstall Xbox Even though my Legion is used fo

How to play Sims for free on a Windows computer or Mac (update 2020)

So some have been asking for an update to our older video playing Sims on your desktop or laptop computer, as well as some having issues with the controls / tutorial when starting Sims.  Hopefully this update with the newest Bluestacks Android emulator and the latest Sims Freeplay game, can help you get your game going on your computer.   Download and install the free Bluestacks Android emulator software from:  https://www.bluestacks.com  Due to being an Android emulator, some antivirus software may give a false positive. If your security software prevents you from installing this emulator, you can temporarily disable it so the installation of Bluestacks can proceed. You may need to login with your Google Play email (gmail address). Click on the Google Play Store icon. Search for Sims. You can download either the Sims Mobile or Sims Freeplay or any other game available for Android. Install and proceed with any further update downloads of the game. You can see the Game Gu
