How to convert a video file to an audio file without software

This is the easiest way to convert an MP4 video file to an MP3 audio file without the need for extra software.

This way if you have a video clip of your favorite music, you can easily convert it into a music file that can be transferred and listened to a music player or any audio device that supports MP3.

  1. Type Folder Options in the Windows Search bar and press Enter to open the File Explorer Options.
  2. Navigate to the View tab.
  3. Uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types option. Click OK.
  4. Right-click on the desired video file, and click Rename from the drop-down menu.
  5. Replace the last 3 letters after the "." from .MP4 to .MP3. On the pop-up confirmation, click Yes.
