How to get the Windows 10 product key from your computer

In this quick and easy tutorial, you will learn how to retrieve the product key of your Windows 10 that is currently preinstalled on your PC or laptop, by using a command in Command Prompt.

  1. Type cmd in the Windows Search bar. 
  2. Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator from the drop-down menu.
  3. Type or copy and paste this command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
  4. Press Enter. The product key will be revealed. Select it, and press the Ctrl+C combination on your keyboard to copy the product key, and Ctrl+V to paste it in a safe place (Notepad etc).
